Meet the Owner of Viva Mexico Carnitas in West Valley City

Hello! My name is Caro Ortiz, and I'm the owner of Viva Mexico Carnitas. I specialize in helping event hosts: family dinners, work dinners, quinceañeras, weddings, and more, recommending the right amount of food for the number of guests at their event.

It all started when I was a little girl. My mom was a single mother, and selling carnitas was how she supported my sister and me. Thanks to carnitas, my sister and I were able to study, build our careers, and get ahead.

We arrived in the United States in 2005. Years later the 2008 crisis hit, and that's when we went back to selling carnitas from our home. Over time, orders started coming in for events of 50 up to 500 people. In 2020, my mom managed to open her own carnitas restaurant in Kearns, Utah. That's where I learned how to offer good catering service, listening to and understanding what customers needed. I remember one event for 700 people, one of the biggest we've ever done!

After many years, in 2025 I decided to open a different kind of business: a clothing store, both in-person and online, in Roy, Utah. In 2026 I came back to the idea of my own carnitas business, and that's how Viva Mexico Carnitas was born, where my passion for being part of people's celebrations comes alive again, thanks to everyone who gives me that chance.
