Carnitas by the pound is the most requested item on the Viva Mexico Carnitas menu: traditional, slow-cooked pork sold by weight at $12.99 a pound, ready to build tacos, tortas, or a full plate at home. It's the same carnitas served on every plate at our West Valley City location on 3500 South, just made in the quantity you need, whether that's a quick taco night or a table full of family.
The Cuts You Can Order
Carnitas by the pound comes as mixed cuts by default, or you can ask for a specific cut: maciza (the lean shoulder meat), cuero (the crisp skin), rib, or buche. Every order is cooked fresh from the same batch being served that day, so the cuts available can vary. It's worth asking what's ready when you call. Round it out with tortillas, rice, refried beans, or a side of red or green salsa, all sold separately on the menu, to turn the meat into a full meal at home.
How to Order Ahead
Call (801) 349-0443 to place a by-the-pound order for pickup, or order online for delivery through DoorDash. We're open Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and closed Monday and Tuesday. For larger quantities, a little advance notice helps us have it ready when you arrive.
